Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) -Part Time Days

Responsibilities

  • Assist with performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication history
  • Taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and weight
  • Perform routine procedures under established protocols (to include but not limited to phlebotomy, EKG’s, dressing changes and wound cultures)
  • Documenting medical history including medications, treatment and medical conditions
  • Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills including bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility
  • Providing basic wound care, basic laboratory tests, basic patient education and instructions
  • Observing and reporting changes in patients’ physical or mental health to nurses

Qualifications

  • CNA Certification - Completion of an accredited CNA training program and passing a state-approved competency exam
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Be able to obtain BLS CPR and first aid certification (AHA required)
  • Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
  • Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements

Physical Capabilities

  • Must have the ability to stand for long periods
  • Lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
  • Bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances
  • Perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift
