Position Summary

Under the leadership of the CNA Instructor, the Certified Nursing Assistant student will be educated and trained to provide culturally sensitive, developmentally appropriate patient care. The Certified Nursing Assistant student will work under close supervision of a licensed nurse and perform a variety of basic patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs of patients.

CNA Class

  • Duration: 12 weeks
  • Days: Monday and Thursday
  • Time: 4pm to 9pm
  • Starting Week 8: Saturday from 6:45am to 3pm
  • Cost: $1500
  • Scholarship Option: Available for those unable to cover the cost, providing one year of employment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Experience: No required experience
  • Licensure, Registrations & Certifications: Initial requirements before acceptance into the program.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Communicate positively with patients, families, visitors, physicians, coworkers, and staff from other departments.
  • Support the nursing staff and follow instructions from licensed nursing staff.
  • Alert the nursing staff and medical staff to changes in the patient's condition.
  • Operate medical equipment safely.
  • Collect and transport patient specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Assist patients with basic hygiene, hair, and oral care.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Provide basic clerical support.
  • Present a professional image to CRHS nursing, clinical, and medical staff members.
  • Participate in performance improvement studies and integrate performance improvement standards.
  • Attend professional development programs and in-service training.
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned.
