Responsibilities
- Provides care in the following areas according to the resident care sheet and direction of the caregiver supervisor; immediately reports to the supervisor when the assignment cannot be completed
- Performs and documents vital signs and blood sugar testing as required related to medications administration
- Administers medications as set up and according to the medication administration record (MAR)
- Reports any deviation from MAR and medication dosing system
- Properly documents medication administration information including refusal of routine medications and PRN medication administration
- Observes for and reports signs and symptoms that might be related to medications or changes in condition
- Affords assistance to residents at meal time and report any ongoing dietary problems
- Performs minor treatments including application of therapeutic creams and simple dressing changes
- Responds to emergencies and assists supervisor with management of the same
- Completes any assigned caregiver tasks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant license, required
- Experience in caregiving and working with elders in a long-term care setting
- Caregiver must be compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented
Schedule and Compensation
- Employment type: Full-time, Part-time
- Shift: Day Shift (6:00am – 6:00pm) or Night Shift (6:00pm – 6:00am)
- Weekends: rotation every other weekend
- Starting pay: $16.00/hour
