Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA

About the role

Visiting Angels' office in Lufkin provides compassionate in-home care to senior adults and those in need across Deep East Texas, including Livingston, Lufkin, Moscow, Corrigan, Diboll, Groveton, Woodville, and surrounding communities. We seek dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants to join our team and deliver meaningful support as companions and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the home or outside (transferring assistance using hoyer lifts, gait belts, walkers, and wheelchairs)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene (bathing assistance and incontinence care)
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from clients (when able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop (grocery shopping, salon, doctor appointments)
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Requirements

• Passion to serve others – a true caregiver
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful and compassionate demeanor
• Experience with bathing assistance and incontinence care
• Experience transferring seniors using a hoyer lift or gait belt
• Strong ethics
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s and Dementia
• 2 years professional experience with the elderly in a facility or with an agency, or CNA certification

Pay

$11.00–$13.00 per hour
