About the role

Visiting Angels’ Lufkin office provides caregiver services across the Deep East Texas area, including Crockett, Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Berea, Pennington, Groveton and surrounding communities. We are seeking dedicated individuals who are passionate about delivering compassionate care to senior adults and those in need. This Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by becoming a trusted companion, assisting with daily living activities, and supporting clients’ independence while also gaining advanced training in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (transferring assistance using hoyer lifts, gait belts, walkers, and wheelchairs)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene (bathing assistance and incontinence care)
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop (grocery, salon, doctor appointments)
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Requirements

• Passion to serve others – a true caregiver
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful and compassionate
• Experience with bathing assistance and incontinence care
• Experience with transferring seniors using a hoyer lift or gait belt
• Strong ethics
• Knowledge of Alzheimer's and Dementia
• Two years of professional experience with the elderly in a facility or agency, or hold a CNA certification

$11.00‑$13.00 per hour
