About the role

As a CNA, you provide quality nursing care and promote resident rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and individuality. You also provide individualized attention and encourage residents to maintain or attain their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

Responsibilities

• Ensure individualized care plans are followed and provide care planning staff with specific information, changes, and observations of the residents' needs and preferences.
• Attend to the resident's needs, including:
  • Grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances
  • Transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communication, in keeping with the individuals' care requirements
• Maintain each resident's skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage by:
  • Changing incontinent residents
  • Turning and repositioning immobile residents
  • Applying moisturizers to fragile skin
• Protect the personal belongings of each resident and promptly report missing items according to established policy.
• Take vital signs, residents' weights, apply creams/ointments, collect specimens, lift, move, and transport residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices to prevent accidents.
• Document care in keeping with department policies.
• Follow prescribed safety and infection control procedures.
• Communicate and interact tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.

Requirements

• CNA certification in the state of employment.
• Ability to obtain CPR/BLS card.

Pay

Starting at $25 an hour (more with experience) + night shift differential.
