Responsibilities
- Aid in patient assessments and interviews
- Take vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and weight
- Document medical histories including medications, treatments, and medical conditions
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADL) skills including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
- Provide basic wound care, basic laboratory tests, and patient education
- Report changes in patients' health to nurses
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
- Maintain inventory of medical and office supplies
- Answer phones, emails, and other forms of communication
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Current certification as Certified Nursing Assistant in AZ
- Ability to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA required)
- Effective interaction with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
- Confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Professionalism and adherence to a Code of Conduct and compliance with facility policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Criminal background check and drug screening clearance
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Lift and move patients up to 50 pounds
- Bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances
- Perform physically demanding tasks like CPR
- Maintain good balance and endurance throughout a shift
