Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Job Summary
CNA 1: Under direct supervision of a licensed RN, the CNAs will provide basic nursing care to patients and/or residents in accordance with the patient’s and/or resident’s assessment and treatment plan. In addition, they will support and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and/or residents. Incumbents will be assigned a specific home unit but may be floated to other areas for additional support when needed.

Minimum Qualifications For The Job
- CNA 1: Experience: No prior experience required. CNA 1’s are required to complete initial advanced skills training checklists and advance to CNA 2 level within 6 months.
- CNA 1’s are required to complete initial advanced skills training checklists and advance to CNA 2 level within 6 months.
- CNA 2: Experience: Master entry level CNA 1 skills and duties and complete initial advanced skills training checklist within 6 months of hire.
- CNA 2 must maintain quarterly skills training checklists and competencies.
Journey Skills
- Completing non-invasive collection and testing of physical specimens (gastroccult, hemoccult, urine dip sticks)
- Glucose testing and reporting
- Suctioning the oral pharynx
- Removal of internal or external urinary catheters
- Peri-care
- Bladder scans
- Electrode placements for electrocardiograms, cardiac monitoring, telemetry
- Incentive Spirometer use
Benefits
Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms. External Hires: Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based upon relevant experience. CNA 1 starts at $23.63 per hour CNA 2 starts at $27.73 per hour
