Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

About the role

Under the direction of a licensed nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) delivers efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes and patient/family satisfaction. The CNA performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services essential to caring for personal needs and comfort of patients.

Responsibilities

• Function within the standards of practice as accorded by certification
• Administer simple treatments and provide related bedside patient care services, as permitted by state regulation
• Maintain basic medical asepsis and standard precautions
• Contribute to a patient-centered environment

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant program
• Minimum of a high school education or high school equivalency diploma preferred
• New graduates welcome
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Basic knowledge of computer use or willingness to learn
• Compliance with all vaccination and testing requirements as required by state and federal regulations

Skills

• Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and providing related bedside patient care services
• Knowledge of basic medical asepsis and standard precautions
• Willingness to work rotating shifts
• Ability to contribute to a patient-centered environment
