About the role
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides routine nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, under the direction of the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator, to ensure the highest degree of quality resident care at all times.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
- Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
- Willingness to assist residents based on their current maturity level.
Responsibilities
- Prepare residents for therapy, activities, physician visits, religious services, etc., including transporting residents to and from such activities.
- Answer residents’ call lights promptly.
- Attend in-service educational programs, on-the-job training programs, and meetings as directed.
- Assist residents with proper hygiene and bathe residents as assigned, following established facility procedures.
- Follow infection control procedures when isolation techniques are necessary.
- Chart required information every shift pertaining to the CNA role.
- Present a professional image to consumers through dress, behavior, and speech.
- Adhere to company standards for resolving consumer concerns.
- Ensure all consumer/resident rights are protected.
