Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

About the role

The Certified Nursing Assistant will provide or assist in activities of daily living (ADLs), such as personal hygiene, grooming, mouth, skin care, and nail care. They will also assist with toileting, positioning, and transfer activities, as well as light housekeeping tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provides or assists in ADL activities
• Assists with toileting, positioning, and transfer activities
• Frequent turning and positioning of a bed-bound resident/patient
• Assists with prescribed exercise and ROM activities
• Assists with light housekeeping of individual's personal unit or room
• Feeds and assists with meals
• Obtains temperature, pulse, and respirations as supervised by the Hospice Nurse
• Reports any changes in resident's/patient's condition to the Hospice Nurse
• Aids in medication administration in compliance with regulations
• Documents information on the Home Health Aide Certification of House form

Requirements

• State Certified CNA license
• Experience in hospice or home health, preferred but not required
• Willingness to travel
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

Skills

Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, and a compassionate nature are essential.
