Position Overview
As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting residents with their daily care needs while promoting a safe, respectful, and patient-centered environment. You will work under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, providing hands-on care, monitoring resident well-being, and ensuring the highest quality of life for those entrusted to your care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and support to residents in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including:
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Protect resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Participate in orientation, training, and continuing education programs
- Absorb and prepare meals as needed
- Follow all facility, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Certification/Registration
- Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association compliant)
- Minimum of 6 months experience as an Aide Trainee or 1 year of paid experience caring for geriatric, long-term care, or medically complex patients
- Successful completion of all pre-employment screening and clearance requirements, including background check and fingerprinting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Understanding of behavioral health and age-related care considerations
