Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
About the role
We are seeking dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our Hillview team at American Lutheran Homes. Positions are available on a part-time basis, including AM, PM, NOC, and Casual shifts. Compensation is $18.00-$23.50 per hour, depending on experience and shift.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the confidentiality of resident and client records including identity, behavior, and medical conditions
- Communicate health and behavior information with other members of the interdisciplinary team
- Know and follow residents and clients' individual care plans
- Know emergency and evacuation procedures established for the unit/facility
- Have a working knowledge of long-term care regulations
- Attend required orientation, training, and maintain Certified Nursing Assistant certification
- Prepare for meals and provide snacks for residents
- Use resources efficiently, report needed items to the Director
- Assist with household and housekeeping duties, including inventory, storage of supplies, light cleaning, and other tasks as assigned
- Clean resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and furniture/furnishings according to job standards/procedures
- Follow infection control procedures
- Conduct and/or assist with assigned activity groups
- Interact in one-to-one activities to meet resident/client needs
- Report behavioral changes in residents
- Provide input and assistance with activity planning and scheduling
- Escort residents to and from activities
- Project a positive image of the organization in interactions with residents/clients, co-workers, and the public
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
To be considered, candidates must have a valid CNAs license and a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in long-term care is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and a compassionate nature are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with hospital-grade equipment are beneficial.
Skills
Knowledge of infection control procedures, ability to lift and move residents, and proficiency in basic computer skills are required.
