Majestic Care of Goshen is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team's mission and believe in our core values. The CNA is a member of the community nursing team responsible for assisting professional nursing personnel by delivering direct hands-on nursing care to ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents on a daily basis. The CNA helps residents achieve the highest level of functioning while living as normal a lifestyle as possible.

Responsibilities

• Perform or assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
• Respond to residents' call lights to provide maximum comfort, safety, and privacy.
• Transport residents by ambulation or wheelchair to areas of the community (dining room, lobby, and activities).
• Report any significant findings or observations to the nurse immediately.
• Assist residents during admission, transfer, and discharge to ensure a smooth transition.
• Responsible for the safekeeping of residents’ personal possessions.
• Keep resident rooms neat and safe.
• Follow proper infection control techniques.
• Respect the rights of each resident, particularly privacy and confidentiality.
• Re-teach residents to perform ADL skills.
• Provide restorative care to prevent pressure sores, contractures, and complications.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and ensure follow-up occurs.
• Converse with residents and family to assist them in adjusting to the community.
• Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition of residents; report deviations from the norm to the Charge Nurse promptly.
• Perform blood pressure, pulse, respirations, intake/output, and weights accurately.

Requirements

• Certified and state-tested as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state employed; certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing.
