Certified Nursing Assistant

Duties

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, grooming, and daily living activities
• Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration
• Provide support in feeding, mobility, and transferring patients using equipment such as Hoyer lifts
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
• Document patient care activities accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Collaborate with nursing staff to implement patient care plans
• Support patients with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care
• Auxiliary in medical procedures under the supervision of nursing staff
• Provide companionship and emotional support to patients
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information

Qualifications

• Previous experience in healthcare settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care is preferred
• Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks) is advantageous
• Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is a plus
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications in areas such as phlebotomy or medication administration are beneficial
• Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology related to patient care
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as emergency medicine or ICU settings
• Careful demeanor with excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and families
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing healthcare environments
