About the role
The Weekend Option Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, person-centered care to residents in our Memory Care Unit. This position is responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living, promoting safety and comfort, and supporting individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other cognitive impairments.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Provide assistance with eating, hydration, mobility, transfers, and repositioning.
- Observe residents and promptly report changes in condition or behavior to licensed nursing staff.
- Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests for assistance.
- Utilize dementia care techniques, including redirection and reassurance, to support residents' emotional and behavioral needs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
- Accurately document care provided according to facility policies.
- Support resident engagement and participation in activities.
- Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Treat residents, families, visitors, and coworkers with dignity, respect, and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Current Indiana CNA certification in good standing.
- Previous long-term care, skilled nursing, or memory care experience preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care and person-centered care practices preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable attendance and commitment to working scheduled weekend shifts.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to transfer and reposition residents safely using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance as needed.

Weekend Option Commitment
This position is designated as a Weekend Option role and requires employees to work scheduled shifts every Saturday and Sunday. Dependability and attendance are essential to ensure continuity of care for our residents.
