Responsibilities

  • Enjoy quality nursing care in an environment that promotes residents' rights, dignity, and freedom of choice.
  • Demonstrate respect, attention, and awareness towards the diversity among the people we serve.
  • Be knowledgeable of the individualized care plan for residents and provide support according to the care plan.
  • Identify and participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) processes.
  • Assist in daily care tasks including bathroom assistance, personal hygiene, dressing, mobility assistance, and food intake.
  • Maintain resident rights and confidentiality, document all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) in the electronic health record.
  • Report symptoms, reactions, and changes in condition promptly, turn and position residents as required by the care plan, and comply with residents' rights.
  • Report any incidents of resident abuse or violations of resident rights to the charge nurse or administration.
  • Respect residents' right to refuse care and report such refusals to the nurse supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, neat, and clean environment, answer resident call bells promptly and courteously, and check on residents who cannot call for help.
  • Take and document vital signs, food and fluid intake and output, heights and weights, and record in the electronic health record.
  • Ambulate and transfer residents using appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics, ensuring the use of only trained equipment and reporting any defective equipment to the supervisor.
  • Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
  • Absent from work, assist and escort residents to appointments such as the hair salon, attending activities, church services, or doctor's appointments.

Requirements

Active MA certified nursing assistant license.
