About the role
We are seeking compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants to join our long-term care/skilled nursing team at Evergreen Health and Rehab in Winchester, VA. You will provide hands-on care to residents while working in a supportive, family-like environment that values your contributions and growth.
Schedule
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- Day shifts: 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
- Evening shifts: 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.
- Night shifts: 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Schedules may vary based on current facility needs
Pay
$19.00–$22.48 per hour, plus applicable shift differentials. Sign-on bonus up to $5,000 (limited time). Access to daily pay and instant wage access.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic nursing care under the direction of licensed nursing supervisors
- Assist residents with bathing, grooming, hygiene, and adaptive equipment placement
- Maintain resident dryness by changing gowns, clothing, and linens when wet or soiled
- Handle linens and make beds according to infection-control guidelines
- Assist with bowel and bladder functions
- Prepare residents for and transport them to appointments, activities, and social programs
- Assist with safe lifting, positioning, and transferring residents using appropriate assistive devices
- Ambulate residents with or without self-help devices as instructed
- Perform restorative procedures as instructed
- Accurately measure and record vital signs and report irregularities to nurses
- Empty urinary drainage bags and record output; report abnormalities promptly
- Ensure call lights are within reach and answer promptly
- Check on residents unable to call for help at frequent intervals
- Maintain cleanliness of resident units, bathing areas, treatment rooms, workrooms, and linen closets
- Clean and sanitize bedpans, urinals, commodes, wash basins, and bathtubs after each use
- Clean floors and perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in good standing and licensed in Virginia
- Previous experience in long-term care or senior living preferred
- Compassionate, reliable, and patient-centered approach
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; physical work is a primary part of the job
- Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods
