Responsibilities

• Provides personal nursing care to patients under the direction of a licensed registered nurse (RN).
• Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living, including self‑care needs.
• Performs routine assigned tasks and reports patient status and concerns to the RN.
• Assists with nutrition and hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints and restorative care.
• Takes vital signs including pulse and blood pressure.
• Helps patients with basic needs such as bathing, dressing and feeding.
• Performs clerical duties, e.g., routing patient reports as appropriate.
• Uses organizational and prioritization skills to keep the unit running smoothly and meet deadlines.
• Provides assessment data to the certified nurse (vital signs, patient verbal and nonverbal responses, etc.).
• Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
