Responsibilities
- Aid physicians and health care providers with examinations and procedures.
- Procure equipment and supplies during emergencies.
- Observe, collect, and document patient information.
- Report significant changes in patient condition to a registered nurse or physician.
- Assist patients with admission, orientation, and discharge.
- Provide care/treatments as outlined in the plan of care.
- Monitor vital signs, measure height and weight, collect specimens, perform skin preps, catheter care, blood glucose checks, simple wound care, range-of-motion exercises, and drain care.
- Assist with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation.
- Maintain a clean work environment by cleaning, changing linens, monitoring supply levels, and transporting patients/specimens.
- Ensure competency in all required skills and complete annual competency assessments.
- Adhere to policies and processes, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Nursing assistant certification from the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Qualifications
Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights.
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
