Job Summary

Job Shift: Nights
Job Type: Full Time
Hours: 1900-0730
Schedule: 6 shifts per two-week pay period. Some weekends required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the direct care of emergency department patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse and performs other essential non-direct patient duties.
• Aids the nurse with vital signs and weights, collects specimens, performs CPR, and assists the nursing staff as delegated.
• Transports patients via wheelchair or gurney and provides safety and comfort for patients and their families.
• Uses effective verbal and written skills to communicate with people on all levels, and maintains positive working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians.
• May, under the supervision of an RN, serve as a patient sitter, maintaining constant direct observation and visualization of identified patient(s).
• Greets patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, obtains demographic and medical information for registration and identification.
• Fosters a supportive environment and promotes customer service by assisting with JFK's goals in obtaining 100 percent satisfaction rates among our most important constituents.

Qualifications

• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (maintained at all times).
• Certified Nursing Assistance Certificate or Equivalent at Time of Hire.
• Previous Hospital Experience - preferred.
• Basic Computer Skills.
• Spanish Speaking - preferred.

Pay and Schedule

$25.00 - $25.00 hourly
Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
