Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is a designated critical access hospital committed to providing quality health care service to residents in Crawford, Franklin and Washington counties. The hospital offers state-of-the-art facilities including an emergency department, modern childbirth center, critical care unit, surgical suite, cardiac rehab services, cancer center, and a medical office building housing primary care physicians and visiting specialists. The hospital also operates four rural health clinics, a Therapy and Rehabilitation department, an award-winning Wound Care Center with hyperbaric chambers, and a multi-discipline physician group providing family, internal, and OB care.

About the Role

Responsible for assisting women in all stages of pregnancy, childbirth, and post-delivery. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general medical direction of an Obstetrician/Gynecologist, guided by physician-approved protocols and evaluated through chart review, consultations, and observation of results.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, counsel, and educate patients to promote healthy living through education and primary prevention regarding medications, treatments, anticipated outcomes, and referrals.
• Conduct examinations and take detailed medical histories to identify and assess patient’s clinical and health care needs to develop an individual program of care.
• Identify high-risk pregnancies and make referrals to doctors and other medical specialists, as appropriate.
• Supervise and assist mothers in labor, monitoring the condition of the fetus and using knowledge of drugs and pain management.
• Offer support and advice following birth or events such as miscarriage, termination, stillbirth, neonatal abnormality, and neonatal death.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Nursing
• 2-5 years of nursing experience
• Advanced Practice RN license and certification
