Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and provide full-scope midwifery care in our outpatient clinic, including comprehensive obstetric and gynecological services.
  • Collaborate with clinical colleagues (including OB/GYNs, RNs, LCSWs, health coaches, lactation counselors, childbirth educators, and other specialists).
  • Provide day-to-day expertise and leadership on Labor & Delivery, including in-house clinical coverage.
  • Triage and care for emergent obstetric patients, working collaboratively with RNs and OB/GYNs.
  • Provide first assist surgical support.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Attend skills training and drills for high acuity/low frequency events.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing intrapartum, postpartum, and OB triage in a hospital setting (2 years experience preferred).
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative OB/CNM practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Value patient preferences/choice, shared decision making, and a holistic care approach.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
  • Active certification with AMCB.
  • Current RN and APRN license in TX.
  • Additional certifications in Obstetric Ultrasound, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, and/or Lactation consultation are preferred.
