About the role

Born out of a nationally recognized health system, Birth Center of Denver offers a unique setting for Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) to provide high-quality, evidence-based care in Colorado's first and only hospital-owned, freestanding birth center.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prenatal, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care up to 14 days.
  • Work with a team of CNMs and RNs committed to delivering exceptional patient care and experiences.
  • Offer prenatal care, customized education classes, labor support, water birth, postpartum, and newborn care up to 14 days.
  • Implement the CenteringPregnancy™ model of prenatal care, which includes belly checks and shared learning sessions.
  • Operate in a home-like, supportive environment with spa-like amenities like an oversized tub for water births, a queen-sized bed, and a separate gathering area for loved ones.
  • Collaborate with Saint Joseph Hospital for seamless transitions to the hospital if necessary.

Requirements

  • Colorado state license as a Certified Nurse Midwife, or eligibility to obtain one prior to start date.
  • American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) board certification.
  • State Controlled Substance License eligibility.
  • Federal DEA Certificate II through V eligibility.
  • BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Prior clinical experience in both hospital and birth center settings is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Experience: Prior clinical experience in both hospital and birth center settings.
  • Skills: Strong communication and teamwork abilities, ability to manage multiple tasks, and proficiency in evidence-based practices.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $57.33 - $88.47, with actual rates dependent upon experience.

Schedule

Your schedule will include a mix of clinic and call days, with a .2 FTE position offering significant flexibility in scheduling shifts.
