About the role

This position provides personal hygiene, mobility, safety, and comfort to Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patients as directed by the professional nurse. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, and maintaining patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene, mobility, safety, and comfort to patients as directed by the professional nurse.
• Administer medication and IVs as per orders from the physician and approved by the professional nurse.
• Formulate and implement the patient care plan based on the needs of the patient.
• Perform nursing procedures and address any unusual circumstances not covered by current policies and procedures or standards of care.
• Maintain accuracy in documentation from pre-admission to discharge.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and treatments without conflict, ensuring proper communication with ancillary departments.
• Maintain unit supplies and ensure effective interdepartmental communication.
• Assist in other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid CA or NV Driver's license and ability to pass Renown Health's Department of Motor Vehicle Report criteria.
• Current auto insurance.
• AHA BLS certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada CNA certification.

Qualifications

• Education: Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Experience: Six months CNA experience preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of equipment specific to the area of employment.
• Proficiency in body mechanics, fire safety, infection control, patient safety, CPR, and safe handling of hazardous materials.
• Effective communication with diverse types of people.
• Ability to maintain accuracy and respond to requests from different people simultaneously.
• Courteous and tactful behavior.
