About the Role
This posting is for two related opportunities:
- Nurse Assistant Training Program: Functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. During clinical rotations, provides basic patient care under the direction and supervision of a clinical educator and nursing staff. Duties may include taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens. Obtains and reports information on patient condition as requested. At the end of training, a competency assessment validates learning.
- Certified Nurse Assistant / Nurse Assistant: Provides basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. Performs duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens. Obtains information on patient condition as requested and reports any changes.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff
- Take and record patient vitals
- Assist with bathing, dressing, and moving patients
- Change linens and maintain a clean patient environment
- Obtain and report information on patient condition as requested
- Report any changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- (Training Program) Complete classroom and clinical learning activities
- (Training Program) Pass a competency assessment at the end of training
Requirements
Nurse Assistant Training Program
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Prior patient care or healthcare-related experience (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and analytical/problem-solving skills
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
- Consistent and timely work attendance
- Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing job tasks
- BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire
Certified Nurse Assistant / Nurse Assistant
- One of the following must be met:
- 3 months of experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or surgical technologist in the past 3 years, OR
- Completion of an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years, OR
- Completion of the “fundamentals of nursing” course with clinical in an accredited nursing program or practical nursing education program, OR
- Current Missouri CNA License, OR
- Current MO CNA Appendix (MO CNA license must be obtained within 120 days of hire)
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and analytical/problem-solving skills
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
- BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire
