About the Role

This position involves providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff in the Cardiovascular ICU. Responsibilities include taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens, and other assigned duties. You will also obtain and report patient condition information as requested by nursing staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic patient care tasks such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, and moving patients
  • Change linens and assist with other patient care duties as assigned
  • Obtain and report information on patient condition to nursing staff
  • Report any changes in patient condition promptly

Nurse Assistant Training Program

This role functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to train as unlicensed assistive personnel. During clinical rotations, you will:

  • Provide basic patient care under the supervision of a clinical educator and nursing staff
  • Perform duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, and moving patients
  • Obtain and report patient condition information as requested
  • Complete a competency assessment at the end of training to validate learning

Requirements

For Certified Nurse Assistant/Nurse Assistant:

  • 3 months of experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years, OR
  • Completion of an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years, OR
  • Completion of the “fundamentals of nursing” course with clinical in an accredited nursing program or practical nursing education program, OR
  • Possession of a Missouri CNA License, OR
  • Possession of a MO CNA Appendix with a MO CNA license obtained within 120 days of hire

For Nurse Assistant Trainees:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred)
  • Prior patient care or healthcare-related experience (preferred)
