Do you have a passion to work with youth and young adults? The Glenmont Job Corps Center, operated by Adams, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) professional to assist our CNA students in achieving their career goals. This 10-hour-per-week position offers the opportunity to inspire and educate the next generation of CNAs. Job Corps is a no-cost education and vocational training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16-24 improve the quality of their lives by empowering them to get great jobs and become independent.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensure no manipulation of student data.
  • Ensure the Center meets or exceeds DOL/Company performance goals.
  • Provide students with training leading to Career Technical Training completion and industry-recognized certifications.
  • Deliver comprehensive and individualized case management to ensure student progress, achievement, and completion of the Job Corps program.
  • Provide quality career technical training that leads to student placement, including job leads and monitoring of graduate placements.
  • Ensure the classroom is well organized and conducive to student learning, while holding students accountable for following the Center's dress code and behavioral standards of conduct.
  • Produce quality work, assignments, and reports in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Maintain appropriate personal attendance, accountability, and work productivity standards.
  • Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Apply job knowledge effectively to complete all required job responsibilities and proactively maintain the skills required for the role.
  • Mentor, monitor, and model the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
  • Provide high-quality supervision and management for the student population, taking swift and appropriate action to positively influence student behavior.
  • Show respect and courtesy to students while holding them accountable for their actions and behavior.
  • Deliver quality programs and services for students, ensuring needs are met and pursuing continuous improvement.
  • Exchange ideas and information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and contribute meaningfully to group efforts.
  • Provide quality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested.
  • Effectively articulate thoughts and ideas, identify problems, analyze causes, and evaluate solutions before taking action.
  • Follow up to ensure problems are corrected promptly and appropriately.
  • Work in partnership with staff from all departments to ensure effective supervision and services for students.
  • Accept direction and supervision from the Center Director, Center Duty Officer, or Shift Manager, including temporary assignments to other departments or positions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year of experience in teaching or a related field.
  • Unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Schedule

  • 10 hours per week.
  • Stable and consistent days and hours of work.
  • No work on weekends, evenings, or holidays.
