Located at Hospital for Special Care in the Pediatric Unit, this third‑shift position averages 36 scheduled weekly hours. Responsibilities

• Provide care under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Receive report from licensed nurse on assigned patients.
• Report pertinent patient information to appropriate team members.
• Incorporate awareness of age, developmental, cultural, hearing and other special patient needs into care provided for assigned patients.
• Assist professional staff during emergency situations.
• Demonstrate competency in use of patient‑related equipment.
• Document in a timely and accurate manner adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings.
• Complete specific assigned tasks, set priorities for daily tasks, prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
• Assist with maintaining orderliness, cleanliness, and supplies business unit.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and identification of technical equipment problems when they arise and report any problems to manager or PCC.
• Transport specimens to laboratory.
• Physical demands: continuous standing, walking, bending, forward reaching with occasional sitting; safely transfer patients and provide contact guarding or hands‑on assistance; lift/carry up to 10 lb continuously, 20 lb frequently, up to 40 lb frequently for patient transfers and bed mobility; push/pull up to 50 lb frequently; occasional overhead reaching, crawling, kneeling, squatting; visual and auditory skills needed; fine manipulation for writing
