Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families
• Assist with bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, feeding, and mobility
• Monitor patient comfort and report changes in condition to the primary nurse
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility assistance
• Auxiliary tasks such as setting up and maintaining medical equipment including hospital beds and wheelchairs
• Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans
• Participate in weekend and holiday on-call rotations as needed

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Aide program with current Virginia CNA licensure
• Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred (home health, hospice, or long-term care experience preferred)
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
• Compassionate, patient-centered, and emotionally resilient
• Comfort working independently in home and facility settings
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred
• Valid Virginia driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record

Schedule & Compensation

• Schedule: Full-time opportunities available with rotating weekend and holiday on-call responsibilities
• Location: Serving patients throughout the Good Samaritan Hospice service area including homes, facilities, and hospitals
• Hourly Rate: Starting at $18/hour
