Job Summary
The Certified Medication Technician (CMT) is responsible for administering medications and providing direct resident care in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and state and federal regulations. This role plays a vital part in monitoring resident conditions and ensuring accurate medication documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per physician orders and Medication Administration Records (MAR)
- Verify resident identity, medication dosage, and administration times
- Document medication administration, refusals, and changes in resident condition
- Observe residents for reactions to medications and report concerns to nursing staff
- Aid with personal care services, hygiene, and resident comfort
- Support meal service, hydration, and nutritional needs per facility policy
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff and other CMTs for continuity of care
- Maintain medication inventory and restock
- Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs
- Assist nurses during treatments and examinations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Current Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification in Missouri
- Completion of a State-Approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program
- Listed on the Missouri State Nurse Aide Registry in good standing
- Skilled Nursing Facility experience preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
