About the Role

The Lead Medication Assistant organizes resident care, supervises resident assistants, and ensures care plans are followed and documented accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver age-appropriate physical and psychological care to adult and geriatric residents.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Administer prescribed medications within legal scope and document outcomes.
  • Support resident transfer, mobility, and range of motion exercises.
  • Participate in resident admission, staff orientation, and performance data collection.
  • Maintain a clean and safe household environment during shifts.
  • Communicate resident condition changes and collaborate with nursing staff.
  • Contribute to wellness and recreational activities encouraging resident participation.
  • Support staff in procedures and collect specimens.
  • Ensure quality, cost-effective care.
  • Participate in committees as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; minimum age 18.
  • At least six months of CNA experience; prior long-term care experience preferred.
  • Completion of state-specific CNA and Medication Aide courses.
  • Maintain required certifications, continuing education, and competency testing.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance may be necessary depending on the state.
