About the Role

The Medication Assistant (MA) provides resident-centered nursing care and assistance with daily living activities under supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications delegated by licensed nurses and document care outcomes
  • Monitor resident conditions and report changes in health
  • Support residents' psychosocial needs
  • Assist with personal hygiene, transferring, repositioning, mobility, and range of motion exercises
  • Prepare and assist with meals, ensuring a positive dining experience
  • Perform light housekeeping and laundry tasks to maintain resident living areas
  • Collect vital signs and gather non-invasive body fluid specimens
  • Participate in wellness and recreational activities to promote resident well-being
  • Provide age-appropriate care aligned with individual care plans
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care (preferred)
  • Completion of state-specific CNA and medication aide training/certification
  • Maintains required certifications and continuing education
  • Valid driver's license may be required depending on location
