Certified Medication Assistant - Assisted Living (Night Shift)

About the role

The Medication Assistant (MA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision, ensuring age-appropriate physical and psychological support.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, transferring, and range of motion exercises.
• Administer prescribed medications within scope of practice and document care outcomes.
• Monitor and record vital signs, collect non-invasive specimens, and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Support residents with meals, snacks, hydration, and recreational activities to promote well-being.
• Maintain cleanliness through housekeeping and laundry services.
• Assist with psycho-social support and encourage participation in wellness programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; minimum age 18 preferred.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience is preferred.
• Complete annual competency testing and continuing education (minimum 12 hours/year).
• Maintain required certifications, such as CNA and medication aide, per state regulations.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and compassionate care skills.
