About the Role
The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) provides hands-on supervision of caregiving staff, administers medications in accordance with regulations, and ensures personalized resident care. They uphold residence policies, respond to emergencies, and maintain residents' rights to safe and confidential treatment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise caregiver staff and follow resident care plans
- Respond promptly to resident needs and emergencies
- Assist with meals and promote infection control
- Foster positive resident and family relationships
- Manage staff schedules and lead by example
- Encourage teamwork and maintain open communication
- Properly administer medications following the six 'rights'
- Document medication administration accurately
- Respect residents' refusal rights and monitor for adverse reactions
- Report medication errors immediately
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum one year of senior living experience
- Supervisory skills preferred
- Strong communication and a friendly disposition
- Ability to react effectively in emergencies
- Physical stamina for extended periods
- Must complete ongoing education
- Maintain CPR & First Aid certifications
