About the role
As the Certified Medication Aide (CMA), you will administer oral and topical medications to residents as ordered by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations, and consistent with facility policies.
Responsibilities
- Administer medication as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with state and federal regulations and facility policy.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the “five rights” of medication administration.
- Record the administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately.
- Observe for and report any reactions and/or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse on the appropriate shift.
- Administer PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and facility policy.
Requirements
- State certification as a Nurse Aide is required.
- State certification as a Medication Aide is required.
- State approved medication administration certification.
- Complete familiarity with duties of a certified nurse aide.
- Highly developed observation skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Schedule
2pm to 10pm, 4 on 2 off rotation.
