Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

About the role

The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) plays a vital part in supporting residents' health, comfort, and quality of life by ensuring medications are administered safely and accurately, monitoring residents for medication responses, and assisting with daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff
• Verify resident identity prior to medication administration and document dosage, time, and observations
• Maintain accurate documentation related to resident care, intake, and output as ordered
• Assist with admission, discharge, and transfer documentation as required
• Support team members by providing assistance as needed
• Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning resident rooms and common areas
• Answer phones, greet visitors, and assist with tours as requested

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Completion of a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) program that meets state requirements
• Active CMA certification in good standing

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary care team
• Physical Demands: Lift up to 25 lbs., push/pull up to 100 lbs., maneuver resident wheelchairs weighing up to 350 lbs.
• Safety Requirements: Follow proper resident care procedures, utilize required PPE, report work-related injuries, participate in company drug testing procedures
