About the role

The Certified Medication Aid (MA40)/Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for enhancing the living experience for Eventide's Seniors/residents/clients by performing various care activities and related services as described and in compliance with the comprehensive care plan/service plan objectives. They contribute to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of Seniors/clients through respectful, professional, competent, and personable interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, transferring/ambulation and continence.
  • Affords assistance with Senior/client admissions, discharges, transfers and orientation of new employees.
  • Fulfills department protocol for submission of completed documentation.
  • Prioritizes assignments, making adjustments throughout shift to meet frequently changing/overlapping Senior/client/caregiver/TEAMember/manager needs, call lights, when necessary.
  • Performs work duties within the assigned work environment related to the position, as assigned by Eventide, regardless of TEAMember preference.
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations regarding privacy by ensuring that Protected Health Information (PHI) is safeguarded at all times.
  • Implements activities for the Seniors/clients.
  • Prepares, plates and serves meals, snacks and other foods requested by/for/to Senior/client.
  • Assists with cleanup of the dining room and is responsible for housekeeping and laundry duties as needed.
  • If utilizing MA40: Prepares and administers medications and treatments, under the direction of the RN, within scope of practice as ordered by the physician and according to facility policies/procedures. Evaluates emergency situations, performing CPR when necessary, based on training.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language including medical terminology related to the job.
  • Ability to gain access to the work area and then safely perform the duties of the job. Vision and hearing within normal limits (with or without correction).
  • Must have unrestricted lift/push/pull ability of 50 - pounds, demonstrating strength and agility at Eventide’s discretion.
  • At least age 18.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 6 months experience as an aide or caregiver preferred.
  • Credentials: CNA and MA-40 certification in good standing as demonstrated by inclusion on the Nebraska State Registry required. If utilizing MA-40 certification, CPR is required. All certifications must be kept up to date at the expense of the employee.
  • Must meet Eventide’s vaccination requirements.

Eventide offers a competitive starting pay range of $19-21.28 per hour for Med Aides based on qualifications, experience, and location. Shift premiums and differentials are also available, for select positions, paid on employment status and shift worked.
