About the role

The Medical Assistant provides a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees; performs patient-care tasks and procedures; and handles administrative duties as appropriate. The role requires the ability to assess situations objectively, consider alternatives, develop action plans, and evaluate outcomes while adhering to department and system policies, procedures, and practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient-care tasks and procedures.
• Handle administrative duties as needed.
• Assess situations objectively, consider alternatives, and assist in developing realistic action plans.
• Follow department and system policies, procedures, and practices.
• Utilize appropriate resources that are safe, effective, ethical, and fiscally responsible.
• Demonstrate proficiency in daily operations and inter-departmental interactions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or EMT Basic.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of clinical or administrative experience preferred.

Schedule

• Clinic hours: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday–Friday.
• Weekend hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
• Scheduled hours and shifts may vary based on business need and candidate availability.
