Certified Medical Assistant Trainee
Brief Description
Must have prior medical experience. We are seeking dedicated Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and Certified Nursing Assistants to join our team and provide essential clinical support and patient care in a non-emergency, outpatient setting.
About the role
The EMT and CNA will work collaboratively with nurses, providers, and administrative staff to ensure efficient, high-quality care for our patients. While not responding to emergency calls, the EMT or CNA will utilize their skills to support clinical operations, assist with patient intake and monitoring, and provide direct care under the supervision of licensed medical personnel.
Responsibilities
- Acts as a liaison between the hospital and local or consulting physician offices to foster cooperative relationships and resolve issues related to clinic operations
- Performs administrative tasks such as coordinating patient appointments, scheduling lab tests, answering phones, and conducting follow-up communication
- Carries out clinical duties including collecting lab specimens and changing dressings
- Demonstrates personal care skills and is aware of patients’ mental health and social service needs
- Applies basic restorative care practices to support patient recovery and well-being
- Prepares exam rooms and medical instruments, assists with procedures, and ensures proper disposal of contaminated materials
- Prepares medications as directed by providers and accurately documents test results, vital signs, and other patient data
Requirements
- EMT certification preferred
- CNA preferred
- Maintain current CPR certification
Qualifications
- Educational and/or Experience: EMT certification preferred, CNA preferred
