About the role

The Clackamas County Sunnyside Health Center is looking for a motivated and team-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team. In this role, you will provide routine medical assistance to professional health care providers and care team administrative support. We are committed to using the latest in medical practices that focus on each patient as an individual, and we work to take care of the health and wellness of the whole person. We work in an interdisciplinary team that provides primary care, behavioral health, and dental services all under one roof and take pride in providing high quality healthcare to Clackamas County residents. As a member of the team, you must maintain a caring and supportive attitude towards patients, family members, visitors, providers and co-workers. CMAs assist in maintaining a smooth, punctual, and efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities

  • Help fill in for other CMAs who are out of office (sick, vacation, etc) at the Sunnyside Clinic and other locations as needed.
  • Greet patients, explain visit procedures, and prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, anthropometric measurements, and other relevant health information.
  • Set up exam rooms with appropriate supplies and equipment and assist providers with routine clinical procedures and delegated patient care tasks.
  • Administer immunizations, injections, medications, and perform phlebotomy under physician direction and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Support efficient clinic operations by coordinating patient flow and collaborating with providers and other clinical staff.
  • Instruct patients on specimen collection procedures and collect, prepare, process, and transport specimens using appropriate sterile and sanitary techniques.
  • Perform routine diagnostic testing, accurately document results, and participate in quality assurance and quality control activities.
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain laboratory equipment, exam rooms, and medical instruments, including operating an autoclave.
  • Monitor, stock, and inventory vaccines, medications, medical supplies, and equipment; assist with ordering and maintaining adequate inventory levels.
  • Perform patient registration, reception, telephone support, referral processing, and other front office functions.
  • Communicate with patients regarding provider messages, prescription refills or issues, referral and document processing, as well as other needs in person, by telephone, or via MyChart.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), including documenting clinical activities, laboratory results, and demographic updates.
  • Complete release of information requests and perform data entry and other administrative duties to support clinic operations.

Requirements

  • Current certification/registration as a Medical Assistant by a nationally recognized program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
  • Experience in primary family care and/or pediatric care clinic.
  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as EPIC.

Pre-employment requirements: Must pass post-offer, pre-employment drug test and a criminal history check which may include national or state fingerprint records check.

Schedule

This position works 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Friday. Typical work hours are scheduled 8AM-5PM or 10AM-7PM depending on weekly coverage needs. Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended. This position is designated as on-site/in-person. It may also cover shifts at other locations, as needed, when other CMAs are out (sick, vacation, etc.).

Pay

Annual Pay Range: $57,374.20 - $72,353.74

Hourly Pay Range: $27.58 - $34.79

Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.
