About the Role

Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is a community-focused Critical Access Hospital serving eastern Montana and western North Dakota. We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team at Gabert Clinic. This position plays a vital role in supporting providers and delivering outstanding patient care in a fast-paced outpatient clinic setting.

Position Summary: The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides direct clinical assistance to patients and providers within the clinic setting. Responsibilities include gathering patient information, preparing patients for examination, assisting with procedures, and supporting follow-up care.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and other pertinent information in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
  • Provide basic patient care and treatments, including:
    • Administering medications via topical, oral, subcutaneous, or intramuscular routes
    • Dressing changes
    • Suture and staple removal
  • Obtain laboratory specimens as ordered.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all clinic policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certificate from an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • May require extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
