CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT - RMG ORTHOPEDICS (24 HRS/WK DAYS)

Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for consultations with healthcare providers.
  • Absorb vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
  • Perform basic medical procedures such as phlebotomy, EKG, wound care, and administering specific injections under supervision.
  • Administer vaccines as requested by the provider.
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests, electrocardiograms, pulse oximetry, and nebulizer treatments as instructed.
• Clinical Assistance: Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and equipment for procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile environment during minor surgical procedures and examinations.
  • Manage inventory and ensure adequate stock of medical supplies and medications.
• Administrative Support: Schedule patient appointments, tests, and procedures, and coordinate referrals as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR).
  • Handle patient inquiries, telephone calls, and messages promptly and courteously.
  • Verify insurance coverage, collect co-payments, and process billing and coding accurately.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Adhere to established clinical protocols, infection control measures, and safety standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in maintaining accreditation standards.
  • Stay updated with industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices through continuing education.
• Non-Essential Duties: Assist with the training and orientation of new staff members.
  • Support the healthcare team in additional tasks as needed to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Licensure/Education: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.

  High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; CPR certification may be required.

• Preferred Education: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

  Proficiency in medical terminology, clinical procedures, and basic pharmacology.

  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.

  Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical billing software preferred.

  Willingness to adapt to changing healthcare policies, procedures, and technologies.
