Responsibilities
- Rooms patients; take and documents vitals
- Assists with reviewing and updating medications
- Completes and documents screening assessments
- Maintains close communication and collaboration with clinical team
- Maintains and reviews patient charts
- Initial and on-treatment assessments
- Medical record management
- Aids in the care of inpatient and skilled nursing facility patients
- Data collection, data entry, analysis
- Ensures clinical area compliance with TJC requirements
- Conducts hand hygiene observations and documents accordingly
Requirements
- Medical Assistant diploma from a medical assistant education program and/or high school diploma
- National certification from an accredited organization (such as CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA)
- Current C.P.R. certification issued through American Heart Association
- Medical or patient care experience in a health center or hospital setting as demonstrated through clinical hours or prior work experience
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Computer literacy in Microsoft products and email
- Experience with EHR software and EPIC a plus
Preferred
- Excellent IV Therapy skills
