About the role

You will be part of a collaborative, physician-led team that works as one and puts patients at the center of everything we do. With a connected network of providers, care teams, and services across primary and specialty care, surgery centers, imaging, lab, and therapy, you are part of a system designed to deliver high-quality, coordinated care in Pulmonary Medicine at our Elmhurst location.

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm; all team members are required to arrive at least 10 minutes before shift. Some travel to assist other local clinics may be expected.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, measuring vital signs, and collecting health history
  • Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes, and other first-aid procedures
  • Certified medical assistants may assist with immunizations or injections
  • Assist patients with prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, update charting, and filing
  • Conduct onsite lab testing to include: EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose, and urine pregnancy tests
  • Maintain clean, warm, and inviting examination rooms for patient visits
  • Provide excellent customer service exemplifying Duly Health and Care CARE values

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of Medical Assistant educational program or higher education courses in health sciences or related experience required
  • Active medical assistant certification through one of the following is required for several clinical specialties (Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Practice):
    • American Medical Technologists (AMT)
    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
    • National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
    • American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
    • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • CPR certification or willingness to become certified upon hire required
  • May require phlebotomy certification to be completed within 90 days of hire
  • Prior experience working as an MA, CMA, CNA, EMT, or 2 years of prior experience working in a medical office assisting with patient care
  • Prior experience using an electronic medical record preferred
  • College graduates from a health sciences program interested in gaining patient care experience and pursuing a career in healthcare are welcome to apply

Pay

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $21.43–$23.63 per hour for a Medical Assistant; Certified or Registered Medical Assistants have a base pay range of $22.97–$24.57. Actual pay is determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives.
