Certified Medical Assistant - Prairie Pediatrics

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Performs general clinical care to patients.
• Screens patients for appropriate information.
• Utilize knowledge and skills in the safe implementation of basic preventative and therapeutic nursing care of assigned patient/family as evidenced by documentation and observation of positive patient care outcomes.
• Aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients and documents accurately in the patient's chart.
• Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls.
• Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment.
• Prepares exam rooms including re-stocking of treatment areas.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the health care team in coordination of the patient's care as evidenced by other department feedback.
• Performs related work as required.

Education And Experience Required:

• Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants or equivalent work experience under the NHA.
• One year of MA experience in an office setting.

Certification:

• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants or National Healthcareer Association.
