Position located in Winston-Salem, NC within the Peds Medical Clinic. Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
About The Role
Novant Health is seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to coordinate and assist healthcare providers in delivering safe, quality, and cost-effective care to our diverse patient population. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assist providers in delivering healthcare services.
- Assist providers during exams and procedures.
- Take vital signs and obtain medical histories.
- Assist with patient form requests such as FMLA or other needed forms.
- Prepare patients and exam rooms for treatment.
- Ensure safe, quality, and cost-effective care for patients.
- Foster a safe patient environment driven by the principles of "First Do No Harm."
- Engage in teamwork and community involvement to enhance patient care.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program including pharmacology and medication administration.
- Current certification as CMA, RMA, or CCMA, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Approved certifying registries include:
- CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
- RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
- American Allied Health (AAH)
- RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
- If not currently certified, must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of hire and sign an education agreement.
- Previous work in a medical office is preferred but not required.
- Ability to successfully complete skills validation and competency testing.
