About the Role
We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified (CMA/RMA) in our Duke Children's Specialty Services Clinic located in Greensboro, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake including:
- Obtaining vital signs (including manual blood pressures)
- Administering survey tools, data collection, education screens
- Assisting patients with ambulation/toileting
- Reviewing patient medications
- Assisting patients with preparing questions for provider visit
- Complete procedural tasks including:
- Administering medications according to protocols and provider orders
- Assisting with clinic-performed procedures, EKGs, placing Holter monitors
- Reviewing pre-printed material with patient/family
- Billing for nursing procedures
- Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care, including equipment and material resources
- Documentation in electronic health record
- Perform administrative tasks
Requirements
- Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred
- High school or GED graduation required
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required
- BLS required
