Maintains education requirements and demonstrates competency through annual clinical competencies and written tests.
Office Flow
- Prepares patients and equipment for treatment
- Initiates testing
- Documents results in the practice’s designated system
Confidentiality
Maintains confidentiality of employees' and patients' administrative and medical information.
Whole Care
- Provides intake
- Tests and documents results
- Administers medication
- Closes care gaps
Support Staff
- Assists patients, visitors, and co-workers
Intake and Documentation
- Performs screenings
- Takes patient history
- Takes vital signs
- Medication reconciliation
Minor Procedures
- Assists with minor procedures
- Ensures accurate documentation
Inventory Management
- Maintains inventory
- Ensures adequate supplies and functioning medical equipment
Other Duties
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of health care field and medical terminology
- Knowledge of chronic disease management
- Knowledge of and ability to utilize internal and external resources
- Expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems
- Ability to function and assist others in stressful, fast-paced environments and effectively apply stress management techniques
Education and Experience
- High School Grad or Equiv
- 1+ year of related work experience
Licenses and Certifications
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- OR Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC)
- OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- OR National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
- OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- OR Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
