Responsibilities
- Patient Care:
- Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for consultations.
- Absorb and accurately record vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
- Perform basic medical procedures such as phlebotomy, EKG, wound care, and administering specific injections under supervision.
- Administer vaccines as requested by the provider.
- Conduct pulmonary function tests, electrocardiograms, pulse oximetry, and nebulizer treatments as instructed.

- Conduct laboratory tests such as urinalysis, blood glucose, and rapid strep tests.
- Clinical Assistance:
- Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and equipment for procedures.
- Assist in minor surgical procedures and examinations, maintaining a sterile environment.
- Manage inventory and ensure adequate stock of medical supplies and medications.
- Administrative Support:
- Schedule patient appointments, tests, and procedures, and coordinate referrals as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with confidentiality regulations.
- Handle patient inquiries, telephone calls, and messages promptly and courteously.
- Verify insurance coverage, collect co-payments, and process billing and coding accurately.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Adhere to established clinical protocols, infection control measures, and safety standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in maintaining accreditation standards.
- Stay updated with industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices through continuing education.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, clinical procedures, and basic pharmacology.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- An attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical billing software preferred.
- A willingness to adapt to changing healthcare policies, procedures, and technologies.
